Scaffolding is the right answer on plenty of projects. It becomes the wrong answer when the structure is tall and narrow, when access is needed briefly or intermittently, when the ground below cannot be occupied, or when the cost and programme of erecting a scaffold outweighs the work itself.
Rope access teams mobilise quickly, occupy very little space, and can reach parts of a structure that fixed access struggles with. On an occupied building it also keeps entrances, footpaths and tenancies clear, which matters to building owners and their tenants.
The trade-off is that rope access suits focused work rather than sustained high-volume application. We will tell you which approach fits the job, including when scaffolding is the better call.
