Cake Commercial Services was contracted to undertake soil remediation work within an area between Blenheim substation on a local landowner’s cropping field. With boundaries recently altered it was found that some localised asbestos contamination was located between both properties.
We had to work closely with both parties to coordinate a timeline that suited the local landowner who was using the field for cropping purposes as well as the main contractor who had work scheduled within the substation.
Once a date was set, our team mobilized to site and met with all parties to coordinate access to the area where asbestos remediation was to take place and to build a special access track for the excavator.
Our team work quickly and safely to minimize disruption and to deliver the project within the specified time frame.
Excavated soil was loaded into lined skip bins which had been placed on site ready to take the waste and transport to a local landfill facility. On completion of the soil excavation, the team then shaped and contoured the land in preparation for new drainage and worked above expectation levels for all parties.
